Kawthoung is a town located in the southernmost part of Myanmar, in Tanintharyi Region. It’s also known as Victoria Point during the British era. The main business in town is trade with Thailand, followed by fishing, rubber and cashews. Among the Burmese, Kawthoung is best known for producing some of the country’s outstanding kickboxers. Kawthoung is also main border crossing point between Myanmar and Thailand, with population fluent in both languages.
